President Drew Greenblatt has testified on Capitol Hill on several occasions. He addressed the Small Business Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives on the subject of modernizing the tax code on behalf of the National Association of Manufacturers in April 2008. Marlin has been a leader in the green movement. All of its products are made from recycled steel wire. It purchases wire coils made from steel that has been recycled from old cars, refrigerators and washing machines. Its designers and robots convert that coil into precisely engineered wire products. Mechanical Engineering Blogs have made Marlin Steel Wire a poster child for Green Friendly Business and robots and productivity.

The company was also at the forefront of a BGE lighting conversion program for small business. The switch to more energy efficient lighting is projected to significantly reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released by the utility’s coal-fired power plants. The change also created more pleasant lighting conditions for employees at Marlin’s Baltimore headquarters.
